A Brief Overview of Night Fishing Lights
There are some specific tools and equipment that you will need to fish at night and Night Fishing Lights are one of those. You must know that most fishermen go out to the sea to fish between dusk and dawn as the odds of getting the best catch is higher. This is due to fact that fish cannot see in the dark, but you will need some special lights to spot them. The most important tool after the fishing line and net, for a fisherman, are lights that not only attract the fish towards it, but also the insects that they feed on.
The Chain Reaction
The Night Fishing Lights can attract any type of fish towards it, like the crappie, walleyes, catfish or striped bass. These are specialty lights that are designed specifically to work underwater at nights. These lights are most effective to draw the sport fish close to the boat along with the tiny zooplanktons. These tiny animals in turn attract the bait fish that includes species like herring, shad and minnows. The chain reaction does not end here as these in turn will attract more predator fish, like the bass and crappie. All you have to do now is to lure these with your bait to make the catch.
The Types of Lights
Ideally, there are three different types of Night Fishing Lights and those are floating lights, submersible lights and black lights. You can use all these for night fishing separately or you can even make a combination of two submersible night fishing lights with two floating lights positioned right above these. This will attract even more fish towards the light and therefore this combination is considered to be more versatile. This will not only attract more fish, but will provide you with more visibility above the water to tie the knots, hook the bait and unhook the fish that you caught.
Colors of Fishing Light
You will usually get two primary colors when you buy Night Fishing Lights, one is green and the other is white. The use of such colors and not red, purple or blue has some scientific reasons as well as the behavior of the fishes. Study has shown that the white and green color has a specific wavelength that is more to the liking and attracts the plankton for reproduction. As these gather near the lights they become easy prey to several bait fish, which in turn attracts the game fish to feed on them, creating a chain reaction.
Green Is More Effective
Out of the two colors white and green, it is the green color that is more favored and preferred over white lights. Green color can penetrate deeper into the water as it cannot be absorbed by the water as easily as the white color light. Moreover, the color character of green is retained even deep inside the water which is not possible with the white lights. It is also revealed through tests and studies that using green color lights for night time fishing produces better results and catches. To read more Click Here
